Amit Palekar graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Zoology and later received a master’s degree in Constitutional law and Intellectual property rights from Goa University.?

To meet his expenses during his college days, he worked as a sub-editor for the Gomantak newspaper. In 1998, Palekar began practising law under a senior lawyer.

In 2002, he qualified for the GPSC examination. A few years later, he became president of the Rotary Club of Panaji Riviera to serve society.?

Palekar, whose mother has been the sarpanch of Merces village for around ten years, joined the AAP in October 2021.
